No new Projects…

Well, that’s not entirely true

I/we did do a bunch of inside projects in between adventures in visit land recently, but I have not stopped long enough from life’s ups and downs to get my thoughts together and post anything yet.

I will say that the Guest room was painted and put back together, and we did some cabinet rearranging in our kitchen…

I will be back to posting once the thoughts have settled enough in my brain and I can re-size all of the photo’s. =)

Cheers ’til then

Guest room

Getting guest room taped off. After the sheds taken care of I’ll be starting on the paint in here. =)

Lime Green finale

Those who follow me on Facebook have already gotten a glimpse of these pics. I finished the Nursery a few days back and it looks pretty good I think *grins*

I did have to do a bit of touch up as I mis-taped *doh* but it was a quick and clean fix. =)

The door way to the hall.

Shot of the closet and far wall..

And a picture from the doorway. =)

I finished up the trim and have cleaned up all the scattered messes now too.

Getting ready to paint the guest room next.

We’ve moved the guest room furniture into the Nursery for now..

(‘scuse the rumpled bedding.. we just threw it on there to prevent another cat gack attack lol *eeww*)

Happy Canada Day!

Lime Green Paint (photo post)

Today I was in a bit of a cleaning mode..

and that lead to me picking up the paint brush and starting on my painting spree. *hehehe*

And ya know what.. I’m lovin’ every minute of it. *grins*

[Prepping the space. I've got Dollar store table cloths, black plastic garbage bags and newspaper down to use for drop cloths.]

[Paint cans of goodness. Lime Green eggshell paint and White eggshell paint. I still need to pick up white trim paint, but that can wait.]

[A pre-paint shot of the wall before I started applying the Lime Green.]

[Wheeeeeeee! Lime Green paint is so pretty. It really was a good colour choice. I am really happy with it already, and I've barely started painting.]

[I painted the top half of three of the walls first, and then started to do the lower portions.]

[Another photo as I worked on the lower portion. *grins*]

[First coat of paint done on almost all of the walls now. Loving how the colour turned out.]

[I'm really happy with how this looks. It'll really 'pop' once the second coat is on and I've done the fresh white paint.  Aaron came in to sneak a peek and seemed to be pleased as well *yay*]

[I'm thinking of  getting black paint and painting where the painters tape is currently covering as well. So it'll have the same lines, just in paint instead of tape.]

[Tomorrow I'll continue work on the Lime Green. *Happy Dance*]

Lime Green

I’m planning on painting the nursery room lime green and white I think. ;)
It’s a lovely, cheery color plus it’s pretty gender neutral. AND either girl and boy colors can be integrated in the room via wall hangings, bedding and such and not clash. *yay*

MEANING OF THE COLOR LIME
Element:

Earth

4th Chakra: Heart (Anahata) Center of the chest

Possibilities – Perception – Anticipation

Keywords:

excited, motivated, anticipation, money, prosperity, hope, growth, luck, employment.

Properties

A wonderful sense of anticipation at all the possibilities and opportunities the world offers. Allows us to be perceptive and non judgmental. This color inspires us to try new things by initiating change.

Too little LIME GREEN , and we can become hateful , petty and jealous of the opportunities other people are experiencing. (Green with envy?)

When this Chakra is blocked we experience: Emotional problems in our relationships to other people.

Lime Stones:

Cats Eye, Peridot, Fluorite, Lemon Chrysoprase, Green Garnet, Jade.

I also Really like the color combination used in this photo I found on the web…
I’d love to integrate this scheme around our home some day.

Room Makeovers

Been working on decorating off and on in the three upstairs bedrooms. Painting still needs to be done, but ’til I can get paint I’ll just get thing prettier as is.

Here’s the the baby room in the making. I’ve been playing around in there off and on getting it set to paint. Now that the master and guestrooms are a tad full of furniture this room will be the first to undergo a paint job when the time comes.

I am going to do a color (haven’t picked it yet) on the top and bottom area’s and white in the middle (possibly magnetic paint and then white) and then decorate with the vinyl cling stickers in the white area. Should be pretty cute. =D

Our queen bed has been turned into the new guest bed now. Pretty nice in there I must say. a little work station next to the bed and cable TV all set up in the closet. =D

Our brand new King sized memory foam bed all set up and taking up most of the room. *lol* Sleeps like a dream and we have plenty of room to sprawl as we wish. =D I’ll probably work on building a headboard for it like we want, as I am not sure if they make them in king size. *shrugs* No worries, this girlie loves her projects. =D

Life of a Crazy woman

So the weeks have been flying by and there is so much happening I almost don’t have the time to stop and update.

Firstly, Aaron’s got a job offer he’s mulling over.  *yay job offers* It’s not something we had really considered before, but would be a great opportunity and the amount they offered to pay is too hard not to pass up.. especially with full benefits AND stock options included. *wow*   It’s something he’s always wanted to do too so that makes it even more exciting.   The catch.. *sigh, there’s always a catch isn’t there* We’d have to relocate.*gah!*  But, but! We Just bought our house!

So, here we sit going over the pro’s and con’s and trying to decide what we should do, what we could do and what we will do. The timing for the offer came at a sort of  ‘interesting’ time for us.     Right now the house is a huge mess (again) from more renovation work.  What else is new though, we are a renovation crazy family *lol*. We’ve been doing some more prep work on the rooms we aren’t happy with while we have some free time.  Right now it’s a wirlwind of sheet rock dust, broken bits and debris Every where. *blech* I remember why I hate sheet rock.. all that damn dust! *yuck!*  It get’s into everything even with the plastic up to try to contain it. And the cats help track it all over the upstairs, so that just lovely.

We do have a bit of a crisis on our hands because of the demolition we are doing though.. midway through tear down we stopped to get something to eat.  That’s about when we realized we took out some of the 2×4’s of a supporting wall in our demolish frenzy. *crap*  That’s what getting carried away does I guess. *jeez* We did a quick ‘bandaid’ fix with what we could, and are now waiting for the guy to get here and fix our Huge mistake ASAP (as in Yesterday people!). Preferably before we have upstairs come downstairs *pleasepleaseplease*.   This is Not going to be cheap. *ugh* Not what we needed right now at all..This is going to hurt. Especially right before our tax bill. *omg*

The chaos does make the job offer he got seem even more appealing, but that could just be the panic talking.  Probably just the panic talking. *gah*

Someones just pulled in to the drive way so I had better go.  I need to get the guy pointed in the right direction so we can resume life again with out worrying about the ceiling falling on us. *eep*

I’ll keep ya posted after the nervous break down is over peeps. Think positive thoughts for us..

oh, and one more thing.. April Fools!! Yup, that’s right I am one evil monkey and Totally made this all up! Happy April first my lovelies! Peace!Cheers! And pwease don’t hurt me. *lol*

Altering Dreams – item #1

First on the list only because it’s recent.

Altering Dreams – item #1 – Dream Bathroom.

Mostly I am happy with our bathrooms. But we have one shower between 3 bathrooms.

The plan originally had been to reno the downstairs bathroom to the nines to make my dream bathroom. With a corner spa soaker tub, cabinetry, tile etc…. really deck it out nicely, and maybe some day convert the upstairs shower to a shower/tub combo.

Things go as they go, and so now it’s looking like the shower/tub conversion may be it for my whole bathroom dream (unless there’s a snag in that as well that I haven’t been told yet.)

….he’s going to pass on doing up the downstairs bathroom all together (which right now it’s a very long room with a sink and toilet in it.).

Bumms me out a massive amount because it was my only big request when we first got the house and so he promised it would happen.

It started out as the first priority.. Renovate the bathroom and then work on the rest of the house….
But as he thought about stuff and planned it gradually got shuffled lower and lower on the list until it hit this point, where it’s been removed as an option all together.

I think the saddest part is I’ve always tried to make sure that what ever we did wouldn’t screw up the option. Because it’s something I really had my heart set on. Yet, after all of the reassurance time and again that it would be doable, somehow it’s gotten screwed up.
*shrugs*

He had his heart set on something else obviously, and so the bathroom got sacrificed in the end.
Just had to take a moment to vent though, since it was a surprise to me.
As far as I knew, ’til today, he was just temporarily putting a hold on doing the bathroom.

But…*sigh* time to deal with it and move on as they say. ((hugs)) I can pout about it more, but that won’t get me the bathroom I had my heart set on so what’s the point. =)

Altering Dreams – item #1 – Dream Bathroom = Be content with what you have, and improve upon it within your means.

Picking out color schemes..

Been working on what color schemes I want to do in certain rooms.

I had already decided on the colors per-say.. just not the specific shade of the colors. (there are like a Gazillion choices OMG. Plus I’m not only thinking walls, I’m also trying to figure out accent things as well.)

So far I knew I wanted to do the Master and Guest bedrooms in purple.
The bathroom in green.
the Kitchen in yellow.

I bet I know what your thinking..
a green bathroom? Man she’s weird, that would be so dark and bleh.
But actually I’m not thinking of painting the entire bathroom green.. just the inner backing squares on the shelves I built. And maybe a few choice green knickknacks or what not.
Something to add color to the room so it’s not all stark white.. but not too much where it’s a dark, dismal place to be (since there are no windows in the room.)

As for the bedrooms, I am thinking 3 shades of purple. (currently the room is in 3 shades of brown. I like the concept, not the colors.)

And I have always loved yellow kitchens, so bright and cheery. I grew up with a yellow kitchen..
Actually, even this house has a yellow kitchen. I mainly want to give it a freshening up. Brighten it up a bit more and have the colors pop a bit more.

Here are my decided upon color choices so far..

Master & Guest rooms..
Thinking #6 for all of the the trim and doors.
And for the walls I am leaning towards colors #2 & #3 (or #3 & #4 I’m not 100% sure just yet)

Still working out the choices for the bathroom.
But since they will be accent colors only I can probably get away with mix and match.
I personally like #3 through #6 so it will probably be a mix of those 4 colors.

For the kitchen I am leaning towards #2 for the walls to brighten it up a bit more in there..
maybe #4 or #5 for trim (although I may just keep the trim white)
… and just integrate some of the other colors in via knickknacks, pictures and such.
